PDT – Project Definition Tool

The Project Definition Tool (PDT) supports the development, documentation, testing and production of applications for controllers and displays in complex vehicles and machines. Tried-and-tested and certified toolboxes significantly simplify and accelerate the development of applications.

An Auto Code Builder is integrated that is used to generate the embedded software code (for one or more targets) with the click of the mouse—in the programming language of your choice. The PDT also generates extensive project documentation and provides the interface information to the TSE test tool and the MST maintenance tool.

SPECIAL FEATURE: The PDT makes it possible to generate a safety-certified embedded software code according to SIL 2, PL d and AgPL d (in conjunction with the embedded programming language used and the target hardware).

The PDT is available in three basic versions: PROGRAMMER C, PROGRAMMER CODESYS, STANDARD DEVELOPER. They can be expanded flexibly, enabling you to configure a version tailored to suit your specific requirements.

Use PDT to

  • define the requirements for the machine control system
  • describe the control setup and architecture and also the derived software architecture
  • define the controllers and displays used
  • specify the machine communication with the associated protocols and messages
  • define the error management
  • set up the data structures for variable parameters
