HYDAC Qt Library FALCON

New Qt library for developing modern HMIs and other Linux devices

The HYDAC Qt library opens up groundbreaking possibilities for the design of graphical user interfaces for embedded devices. The starting point is Qt’s powerful UI toolkit, which not only supports hardware-accelerated rendering for graphics and animations, but also comes with an easy-to-learn programming language: the Qt Modeling Language (QML).

The new HYDAC FALCON control library contains a comprehensive collection of common standard controls such as buttons, text fields and dropdowns. But that’s not all. FALCON also provides advanced widgets, including bar graphs, layout elements and a fully integrated on-screen keyboard. In addition, FALCON provides a ready-made application frame that can be transformed into a fully-fledged human-machine interface (HMI) with navigation elements and a main menu with just a few lines of code.

Bus systems, data connections and IoT solutions are provided by our unified, object-oriented and tested interfaces, allowing you to write hardware-independent code that just works. Hardware abstractions allow you to port your machine functions to different hardware without changing your code. And J1939 error managers help you analyse, activate and report errors.

Want to create modern user interfaces alongside your machine logic? Use our specialised machine widgets (optimised for screen sizes from 5″) and embed your developments into our predefined page templates.

All this helps the HYDAC Qt Library to speed up your work considerably – regardless of whether you set up your own tooling or develop and test your machine with our MATCH toolchain.

MATCH for Qt is a good choice if you want to use a graphical tool for initialisation, configuration and documentation. The certified software platform offers you full tool support for the development of all Hydac TTControl embedded devices in the Vision³ series, the TTC Wave and the TTC Fusion. While you concentrate on the application logic, the certified software platform takes care of the basic work: With MATCH you can automatically import all your bus definitions, error texts, CAN messages and much more into your FALCON project. This gives you access to all data during development in the IDE (which is kept up to date when changes are made). Complete initialisation of the underlying hardware is also possible. And the integrated Machine Service Tool (MST) is available for diagnostics and service.

Regardless of whether you use Falcon with or without the powerful combination of Qt and MATCH, the HYDAC Qt Library gives you a clear advantage. This is because you can quickly generate solutions that meet today’s requirements for adaptability, quality, speed and robustness at the highest level – future-proof solutions that impress with their flexibility and user-friendliness.
